SAN BRUNO MOUNTAIN WATCH
Just a mile south of San Francisco, San Bruno Mountain is one of the largest public open spaces in urban America. Our programs conserve and nurture the mountain's unique ecosystems - home to 13 rare and endangered plants and three federally listed endangered butterflies.
Now is planting time for California natives. The rain is coming to help your new plants become well established before the Summer. And don't miss Ildiko's talk at 10:30am on edible native plants and how to grow them and use them. We will have incredible edible plants for sale so you can take some home with you!
Explore San Bruno Mountain's less-traveled canyons and learn about their history and ecology on this docent-lead hike. Paul's hikes are one of our most popular events!
San Mateo County Parks has launched a new Stewardship Corps program and is seeking volunteers. An upcoming workday on December 10th will be at San Bruno Mountain, but other locations are scheduled too in 2016 - so check it out!
