BRISBANE ACRES

These include the most significant unprotected rare species habitat on the Mountain. Spectacular panoramic views, dramatic rock outcroppings, oak woodland, riparian areas, grasslands, and scrub make up this privately owned land. Tenuous opportunities exist for the longterm preservation of numerous resident species, as well as for beautiful trails. The whole swath of land sweeping above town down to the city park, including many damaged areas, are central as open space, to the character of the town (indeed, of the whole Bay Area), yet it faces increasing fragmentation unless it can be bought and preserved. This is entirely possible; it must happen.
