Spring seems just around the corner - or so we hope, but the weeds too have taken notice of the warmer weather. So there was plenty to do for those of us who held down the fort at the nursery. Joe, Ted and Matt headed back to Buckeye Canyon to complete the planting not finished last Saturday.
At the nursery the pot washing continued, as did the weeding of containers and the grounds. Mary pruned back the California Sagebrush (Artemisia californica), to encourage bushiness and branching, and also cut back flowerheads on the San Francisco Wallflower (Erysimum franciscanum) that were insistent on blooming. This will encourage plant and root growth.
