Rising above the Colma cemeteries, San Bruno Mountain shelters the final resting place of many people—and pets. The presence of Pet’s Rest Cemetery attests to the importance of these beloved companions.

San Bruno Mountain Watch will be holding a reflective and therapeutic walk for people to remember and celebrate the pets they have loved and lost. This event, led by Emily Martin, will include guided meditations to honor beloved animals and opportunities to share memories. It is being held just a few weeks after National Pet Memorial Day.

Participants are encouraged to bring a small memento or personal item (something that fits in their hand) of their pet to this event. This can be anything from a small toy to a photo.

Please remember that pets are not permitted on San Bruno Mountain State & County Park, and rangers will not allow their entry—this event is in honor of pets who’ve passed.

Meet at the main entrance parking lot just past the Ranger Station. Remember to bring sun protection and wear layers in case of windy weather.
